NFT collections

An NFT collection mirrors a wallet. Give it one or more Ethereum addresses and the tokens they hold are read into the collection as items, with their images and the trades behind them. Reading is the only thing the app does with a wallet. Nothing is ever signed or moved.

Setting up

Create a collection of type NFT. The New Collection sheet asks for a Wallet Address; an Ethereum address starts with 0x and runs 42 characters. You can leave it blank and add wallets later.

A collection with no wallet shows No Wallet Yet and an Add Wallet… button.

Wallets

Open Wallets… from the collection's toolbar, its context menu, or Manage Collections.

• The list shows each address with its settled balance where known. Use the remove control on a row to drop it.
• Under Add a Wallet, paste an address and press Add Wallet. A duplicate is refused.
• Read the wallets after saving reads them as soon as you press Save.

The wallet list is part of the collection, so it syncs to your other devices and to anyone you share the collection with.

What is read

For every token the wallets hold:

• An item titled after the token, with the token's description as notes and its image.
• The creator or the token's collection name as the maker.
• Blockchain, token standard, contract address and token ID in the item's specifications.
• The acquisition date, source and cost from the trade that brought it in, with the original price in ETH kept alongside.
• One provenance entry per on-chain trade, with the buyer's shortened address, the price in ETH and the marketplace.

Tokens are matched by contract and token ID, so reading again updates existing items instead of duplicating them. Provenance you typed by hand is kept; the on-chain entries are rebuilt on each read.

Reading again

Refresh from Wallet on the collection, or Read Wallet Again in the collection's empty state, reads every listed wallet. One wallet failing does not stop the others.

• A token the wallet no longer holds is removed from the collection.
• If a read returns nothing for a wallet that already has tokens, nothing is deleted. The app says The read returned no tokens, so the collection was left as it was, which guards against an outage looking like you sold everything. Check the connection and read again.

The ETH balance badge

• On the Mac, a glass capsule floats at the bottom right of the collection page with the Ethereum mark and the balance, such as 0.019 ETH. Hover for the time it was read. The collections list also shows the total ETH across every wallet-backed collection.
• On iPhone and iPad, the balance takes the place of the item count in the collection's control bar.
