Sales and market

Market status

Every item has a market status: Not For Sale, For Sale, Sold or Reserved.

• Set it with the Status switch at the top of the item form, or from Status on the item page.
• For Sale and Reserved show an Asking Price.
• Sold asks for the Sale Price, the Buyer and the Sale Date. Recording a sale writes the sale into the item's provenance automatically.
• Profit or loss against the acquisition price is calculated for you and can be searched in Power Search as realised or unrealised gain.

The Sales section

The Sales section shows the active collection's items that are For Sale or Sold, as a grid of cards with a live count on each segment. Sort by most recently updated or sold, oldest first, Price · High to Low, Price · Low to High or Title · A to Z.

• Print renders the grid as a PDF.
• Export offers Export as CSV… and Export as PDF….
• On iPhone, Print and Export sit under the More menu.

The For Sale and Sold report types in Reports produce a formal schedule of the same items across the whole library.

The For Sale extract

A one-page PDF to hand to a prospective buyer. Open a For Sale item and press the green printer button.

• Report: a title, defaulting to For Sale extract.
• Main Image: which image leads.
• Asking Price and Terms. Choosing Price on Application prints those words instead of a figure.
• Description: Include a Description and the text.
• Artist: a short summary fetched from Wikipedia, included only if you tick Confirm — Include Artist Record.
• Also Include: Insurance Value and Purchase Price, both withheld unless ticked; Change Log; QR Code; and Append Documents with the count.

Press Generate & Print.

Marketplace

Marketplace lists items for sale to other Collections. users. It is hidden by default; turn it on in Settings ▸ Sidebar on the Mac or Settings ▸ General ▸ Show Marketplace on iPhone.

• Browse by category. Each listing shows an image, the location, the title, the category, the asking price or Price on request, and Anonymous seller.
• List an Item picks one of your items, an asking price and currency, and the Location Shown to Buyers. A flat listing fee, shown before you confirm, applies per listing; there is no commission. A listing stays live until the item is sold or you withdraw it.
• On your own listing, choose Mark Sold or Withdraw Listing. Withdrawing sets the item back to Not For Sale.

Both sides stay anonymous. Collections. is the intermediary for messages, offers and payment, and the only public detail is location.

Partnerships

Partnerships is a directory of services for collectors: framers, valuers, graders, auction houses and the like, grouped by service type and targeted by your location. Use My Location sets the area; the app asks for location permission once and never prompts again on its own.

Businesses apply to be listed through New Advertisement, which asks for the service, company details, a monochrome logo and the placement period. Applications carry an assessment fee that the form states before you submit.
