Sync

The Home hub says Not syncing, or Sync error, right after launch. Open Settings ▸ Sync and read the caption under the status. Not syncing on this device means the library opened without iCloud; quit and reopen the app. Not signed in to iCloud means the device is signed out; sign in under System Settings ▸ Apple Account. A notice that iCloud is refusing this device's uploads names a field and means the database layout needs updating by the developer. Your edits are safe and go through by themselves once that is done.

A collection I made on my phone is not on my Mac. Give it a minute and check both devices show Up to date. If the Mac shows uploads but no downloads, press Recheck. If both devices are healthy but a collection arrives empty, use Settings ▸ Sync ▸ Re-send Collection Memberships on the device where the collection is correct.

Images are slow to appear on a new device. Files download the first time they are needed. Settings ▸ Sync ▸ Download Everything fetches them all; On this device shows the count. Stay on Wi-Fi with Low Power Mode off.

Sync seems stuck on the Mac. macOS holds back transfers while the Mac is on a low battery and the app is in the background. Bring Collections. to the front or plug the Mac in.

Two devices show different environments in Diagnostics. A build run from Xcode uses Development and a TestFlight or App Store build uses Production. They never share data. Use the same kind of build on every device.

Importing

My CSV imported no rows. Check that the preview found a title column; the footer says Choose which column holds the title if not. Open the column's menu and pick Title. Sheets without a title column start unselected in a workbook.

Names came in as Surname, First. Turn on Put names in First Last order under Tidy before importing, or run Tidy text with Apple Intelligence.

Items imported twice. Turn on Skip rows already in the library and Import repeated rows once. To fix an existing double, use Tidy Library or merge the two records from the item page.

Dates from the previous app look like 1900 or 2100. Actions ▸ Fix Legacy Import Dates… on the Mac repairs dates that arrived as spreadsheet serial numbers.

Items

I cannot find an item I know is there. Clear the filter chips under the search field, check the collection scope, and look under Drafts. Plain search matches titles, makers, mediums, tags and years; use Power Search for anything else.

An image shows a placeholder. The file has not downloaded yet, or its link is broken. Wait for the download, or run Actions ▸ Repair Broken File Links on the Mac.

The wrong maker was created from a typo. Merge the two makers with Actions ▸ Merge Duplicate Artists… on the Mac, or ask the Curator to merge them.

Curator and smart features

Curator says Apple Intelligence isn't ready. Turn on Apple Intelligence in System Settings and give it time to finish downloading in the background. Settings ▸ Curator shows Ready when it is.

Label scanning cannot read the label. Fill the guide with the label, turn on the torch, hold still, and press Capture again. On the Mac, choose Continue on iPhone to use the phone's camera.

Backups and undo

I merged or deleted the wrong thing. Settings ▸ Data ▸ Backups lists snapshots, including one taken automatically before every Tidy Library delete or merge. Roll Back to This Snapshot… puts the library back, and saves a safety copy first so you can roll forward again.

A backup will not open on this device. Backups open on devices signed into the same Apple Account with iCloud Keychain on. Older backups made before that change open only on the device that made them.

Reports

A report is missing items. Check the Include scope: All, one Collection, or chosen Items. The Insurance report leaves out uninsured items unless Include uninsured works is on. The Compliance Report covers the Reporting Period you set.

The report is the wrong paper size. Settings ▸ General ▸ Reports ▸ Paper Size applies to every report.

Getting help

Settings ▸ Sync ▸ Copy Sync Diagnostics copies everything the app knows about sync as text. Paste it into a message to the team, along with the version from Settings ▸ About ▸ Copy Version Info. Feature requests and problems can also be sent from the Requests window on the Mac.
